Taking the legacy of TVS Jupiter forward, TVS Motor Company India has launched the Jupiter 125cc in the Indian market. Until now, it was only offered with a 110cc engine option. The Jupiter 110 which was first launched in India in the year 2013 clocked more than 4.5 million units in sales, ranking it among the best selling scooter on sale in India. The all-new TVS Jupiter gets several design changes compared to the regular 110 model. It gets a restyled LED headlamp with integrated L-shaped LED DRLS, Boomerang-shaped chrome garnish just above the headlamp, black windscreen, chrome mirror accents, and integrated new L-shaped LED DRLs with turn signals. Similarly, other design highlights of the TVS Jupiter include an external fuel filler cap in front, 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a body-coloured front fender, a single-piece wide comfortable seat, a charging facility, black side-mounted exhaust with heatshield, kick starter and centre stand.
The major highlight of the Jupiter 125 is the new fuel tank placement right below the floorboard in order to provide more boot space as well as a low centre of gravity. The under-seat storage which has been pegged at a massive 33 litres now can hold two helmets. Moreover, the scooter also gets a semi-digital LCD display that shows information such as distance to empty, side-stand indicator and more. The instrument cluster also gets smart alerts, average and real-time mileage indicators.
The Jupiter 125 will be powered by the same 124.8cc, 3-valve single-cylinder engine from the Ntorq, however, unlike Ntorq, Jupiter 125 will be offered with an ETFI (Eco Thrust Fuel Injector) instead of an RTFI. TVS claims a best-in-class acceleration, performance and acceleration. The scooter churns out a maximum power of 8.3 PS @6500 rpm and torque of 10.5 Nm@4,500 rpm.The all-new Jupiter 125 rival the likes of the Hero Destini 125, Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, and Hero Maestro Edge 125, etc.
